Mark Leiter is Chief Strategy Officer of Nielsen. During his tenure with the company, he has provided global leadership for product and client service organizations while playing a central role in designing Nielsen’s growth and go-to-market strategy. Mark started working with Nielsen in 2006 as an advisor to the company, and then joined the leadership team in 2009.
He concurrently serves as a Partner at Pereg Ventures, a Nielsen-sponsored venture capital firm based in New York City. Mark is Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Demand Institute, a non-profit think tank that examines shifts in consumer demand. He serves on The Conference Board’s Global Advisory Council and as a Global Counsellor. He is a Member of The Committee for Economic Development (CED). Mark serves on a Board of Overseers for Bard College and is a Director of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
Mark spent the first decade of his career as a management consultant. He served on McKinsey & Company’s marketing practice leadership team, where he co-founded McKinsey’s B2B marketing and branding practices. He was subsequently a senior partner at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. Mark started his career at Bain & Company in the firm’s customer loyalty practice.
Mark was a research fellow at Harvard Business School. He holds an M.A. from Harvard University and a B.A., summa cum laude, from the State University of New York at Albany.
